Avox Girl/Lavinia
One of the Minor characters of The Hunger Games Trilogy. But if you think about it. Sometimes their stories are the most interesting..
About Avox Girl : Avox Girl was a a very quizzical character. Definantly one you will not forget. Before we meet her in the capitol when Katniss is preparing for her first Hunger Games, is before she was an Avox. We call her Avox Girl because that is what Katniss knew, that she was an Avox, and she was a girl. Before she became an avox her name was Lavinia. Katniss first ran into while she was hunting with Gale in the woods in the off-limits part of District 12. Katniss & Gale were up in a tree when Lavinia and her brother came running along. Katniss recognized that they looked like they were from the capitol. Probably trying to escape. A Capitol hovercraft appeared and sent a spear right at Lavinia's brother & he died immediately. Before the hovercraft could capture Lavinia in a net she locked eyes with Katniss with a look on her face that just simply said "Help". Laviina was taken away back to the capitol and turned into an Avox.
Avox : A servant at the capitol. Their tounge is cut off so they cannot speak anymore. Usually preformed a crime or in Lavinia's case tried to escape from the capitol.
Lavinia served Katniss in the 74th Hunger Games. When Katniss said she looked familiar and thought she knew her Peeta quickly covered up by saying that Katniss was just thinking of an old school mate Delly Cartwright. An Avox's duty is to be acknowledged when recieving an order. So when Katniss tried to talk to her later that night she was ignored. During the 75th Hunger Games Lavinia was once again Katniss and Peeta's Avox along with an old peacekeeper in District 12 Darius. He too was turned into an Avox. Darius and Lavinia died when they were tortured to death during interigation. Peeta believes that they were tortured and interigated simply so that Peeta had to be forced to watch. Lavinia died before Darius because the electric shock was so strong it stopped her heart immediately. Lavinia has Dark red hair, and Porcelian white skin. Being an Avox she is in the lowest social class in Panem. Even lower than those like Katniss who lived in the Seam in District 12. Lavinia is one of my favorite characters because she has such an interesting past.
